You know you’re a nerd when you use vi/perl substitution commands to fix your spelling mistakes in an instant-messenger chat:

mlq: I learnt all I need to know from reading the C# lang spec from top to bottom… dunno if that’s your think (it’s mine *sigh*)
mlq: s/think/thing/
cm: mine too – *sigh*
cm: I’ll have some if that tonight
cm: s/if/of/

    Using substring substituition has been a time-honored tradition in most of IRC for years and years now…especially on the more tech-ish channels.

    Yes, yes, yes. And I always wanted a gnome-jabber / irc / gaim plugin to automatically "corret" the previous message if someone sends a matching re.
